Join Forensics Club!

Do you enjoy sharing ideas, telling stories, or simply want to become more confident speaking in front of others? Forensics Club is a great opportunity for students in Grades 5-8 to develop public speaking skills in a fun, encouraging environment. Throughout the year, students will learn speaking techniques, practice speeches and presentations, and have the option to participate in speech competitions. Whether you're brand new to public speaking or already enjoy being in front of an audience, Forensics Club is a place to grow your confidence and communication skills.

Students are invited to attend our first meeting on Wednesday, September 9, at 3:30 p.m. in Mrs. Monahan's Room (Room 18) at Avalon to learn more about the club and what to expect this year. After the kickoff meeting, members can attend the weekly session that works best for their schedule: Mondays at Avalon (beginning September 14), Tuesdays at the HS/MS (beginning September 15), or Thursdays at Bellevue (beginning September 17). All weekly meetings are held from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Joining is easy! Students should talk with Mrs. Monahan or Miss Tarabay, have a parent or guardian complete the permission slip linked below, and attend the first meeting. If you're unable to make the kickoff meeting, simply email us to let us know you're interested.

For more information, contact Mrs. Monahan at gretchen.monahan@northgatesd.net or Miss Tarabay at austen.tarabay@northgatesd.net. We look forward to welcoming new members and helping students find their voice this school year.

Northgate athletics, in collaboration with Allegheny Health Network, is switching to use an electronic format to collect all physical paperwork documentation. This will make the collection process easier for all involved. Each student must have a Healthy Roster account in order to complete their paperwork. To sign up, please use the following link:

Healthy Roster Sign Up

Once you have signed up, please allow 5-7 days for your account to be created. You will then receive an email from Healthy Roster inviting you to create an account associated with your child's account. All documents that need filled out will be listed as missing documents in the Documents section.

We have started to create some accounts already, and/or you may already have an account.  If so, you do not need to sign up. You will just need to go into the Documents section and fill out what is missing. Some of your child's physical paperwork may have already been loaded into your account by the athletic trainer.

Section 6 is where you will need to upload a copy of your child's physical form filled out and dated after May 1, 2026, by your doctor.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the athletic department at Northgate.
