Northgate High School Student Zoe Russell Selected as 2025–2026 Junior Rotarian

Congratulations to Northgate’s very own, Zoe “Zee” Russell, for being selected as the 2025-2026 Junior Rotarian. This prestigious honor recognizes Zoe’s commitment to community service, leadership and academic excellence.

As Junior Rotarian, Zoe will represent Rotary International by attending weekly banquets and presentations at the Shannopin Country Club, where she will engage with other service-minded individuals. She will also gain valuable professional training and mentorship throughout the year.

The selection process for Junior Rotarian is both rigorous and competitive, involving a detailed application, a formal interview with members of the North Boroughs Rotary Club, and a recommendation from a school official. Mr. Stuart Benson served as the Rotary interviewer, and Mrs. Kelly Winovich, who coordinates Rotary activities at Northgate, provided her recommendation.

The North Boroughs Rotary Club has a long-standing relationship with the Northgate High School Concert Choir and continues to support student enrichment opportunities. As part of their commitment, the Club graciously covers all costs associated with Zoe’s participation at Shannopin Country Club events, offering students access to a wealth of experiences and leadership development.

Zoe Russell’s selection as Junior Rotarian highlights the powerful impact of community partnerships and the bright future of student leaders committed to service.
