Kindergarten

We are excited to meet the newest members of our Northgate family! Our goal is to make the transition to kindergarten as easy as possible for you and your child.

Some of you may have many questions and might be a bit anxious about this new journey; others are already on this path and maybe know a little bit more. In order to make the enrollment process enjoyable and make the transition to Kindergarten as smooth as possible, we offer several opportunities for us to get to know our newest students and families and for you to get to know our school community.

Kindergarten Registration on May 9

On May 9, we will host a registration event from 5 to 8 p.m. that will allow families to turn in registration packets and tour a school. This will be an excellent opportunity for families to meet with teachers, enjoy a variety of activities and pick up your free school supplies and learning bag.

In mid-July, families will receive a welcome letter with information regarding the screening process. This packet will include the day and time for your student’s screening in August.

Our Kindergarten screening process is conducted in individual 30-minute sessions at each Elementary School. Screenings are held on the first two days of school for the school district. Students will report to their assigned school building on the scheduled day and time for the screening. On these two days, students will only attend school during the screening appointment as Kindergarten is not in session.

The first full day of Kindergarten is Monday, August 26.
