On April 8th, students from Bellevue and Avalon Elementaries had the opportunity to attend the Children’s Choice Awards at Commonwealth Charter Academy.

This year, the 5th grade team from Bellevue Elementary School was the only team from Northgate Odyssey to advance from the regional tournament to the Pennsylvania Odyssey of the Mind (OM) State Finals.
The Northgate School Board has approved a two-hour delay start for high school students on May 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd due to Keystone testing.
As we approach the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) testing during the weeks of April 21 and April 28, we want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of students doing their very best on these assessments.

The Avalon Elementary JAM Kindness Club will host its Entrepreneur Night at the school on May 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Come shop all that our students have created at this first-time event! Items are priced from $1 to $5.
Parents as Allies in Making
Avalon Elementary School in the Northgate School District is remaking the way parents can engage in student creativity and learning.
The Parents as Allies project is training parents and guardians to serve as coaches in the school’s makerspace, offering them a unique chance to lead challenging activities that support traditional classroom learning. Through fun and insightful courses, parents in the program have been developing the skills needed to inspire through maker learning concepts.
